Choreoconvo: Themed Group Dance
Social movements don't stand still. Put your hands up, raise your voice, and raise the bar by dancing a dialogue about one of the following topics:
1) Resistance
2) Corruption
3) Gender Violence
4) Education
5) or another issue you feel strongly about
Rules
Groups of 1-8 members.
Under 5 minutes, overtime performances will be disqualified.
Creatively explores a relevant social issue.
Props, costumes and make-up are permitted but no set-up time will be provided between performance groups.
Groups that miss their allotted time slot will be disqualified.
Groups must submit their music in mp3 or wave format (windows media player files not accepted)
How flexible is your gender expression? In this improvisational duet dance competition pairs will be challenged to swap gender roles each time the music changes. Multiple genres will challenge dancers to respond creatively and move beyond stereotypes.
Rules
2 people (of any gender identity)
Partners will spend 3 minutes on stage
No props are permitted
Costumes and make-up are permitted but no set-up time will be provided between performance pairs.
Performers that miss their allotted time slot will be disqualified.
Make an original Street Play incorporating one of the following props:
1) Dhoti
2) Pink underwear
3) Protest sign
Rules
Groups of 2-8 members.
Under 7 minutes, overtime performances will be disqualified.
Creatively engages and activates the audience.
No costumes and make-up are permitted.
Groups that miss their allotted time slot will be disqualified.
Groups must submit their music in mp3 or wave format (windows media player files not accepted).
Live acoustic music will also be supported. No amplified instruments.
